And a very merry Christmas was had by all.........

Despite the fact that we have had to go out and work we managed to have a fantastic christmas. We were quite determined that the fact we couldn't find any cranberry sauce wouldn't put us off from having a good time and if you start off with that sort of incentive then I'm sure that you can't help but enjoy yourself. We started the day with croissants and champagne with pots of fresh coffee and lay in the sun for a while contemplating the day ahead. It was a glorious day with clear skies and bright sun - just how Christmas should be!
We joined forces with some of our fellow travellers and managed to scrape together enough resources to provide two different types of delicious home made hummus, a roast turkey stuffed with pears, oranges, hazelnuts and bacon, roast potatoes, mash potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, runner beans and of course brussel sprouts, followed by sherry trifle, champagne and after dinner mints. It's a hard life at sea you know!
We had a fantastic day in the sun and even though we thought of all our friends and familly we weren't sad really and if we were it soon went away as another cork was popped or another course served up to us.
We did shed a tear each when we opened our cards in the morning and got all your messages from home and thought what wonderful family and friends we have and what a pity they weren't all sitting in the sun with us joining in the fun. Maybe next year in the Caribbean??????

New Year's next

Well, a few more days work now and it will be New Year. I have been asked to DJ at a party here in Gibraltar so we will be out and about and showing the people around here how to have a good time, so watch this space!

Horror upon horror

Looks like we will have to get some work here in Gibraltar over Christmas to fill up the coffers. What a nasty four lettered word that is, I mean this is not why we came away but oh well, nevermind eh, worse things happen at sea. Our chef has his flights booked so at least we will eat well over the holiday period and build up our strength (and bank balance) for the trip ahead.

Made it to Gibraltar

Here we are in Gibraltar having had some wonderful sailing along the South Coast of
spain. We hope that the small problem with the engine can be overcome here but everything works at a slow pace so we are going to settle in for Christmas and ship our chef Pete in to cook us Christmas dinner. Internet is expensive here so will not be leaving long messages.

Merry Christmas to you all if we dont manage to get back to the email before then
love Andy and Christina.
