What´s next then?

Well plans are afoot! Actually we are not sure again now as we have a small problem with the engine (small problems seem to aquire large bills though which is a bit worrying). All we know at the moment is that we will head from here to the Canaries and then on to the Carribean as soon as possible. A big thank you to our computer guru Zoe for putting up our little gallery more to follow as we continue our adventure.

Still mourning the loss of our belated Tilley hat

We finally took down the black ribbons from the rigging as we thought that an appropriate amount of time had elapsed since the untimely demise of Christina´s favorite item of headgear.

The hat will be sorely missed.

Guess who was there...........

Lars and Brian......who else? We spent another last night with Brian before he headed back to Denmark via Malaga. Lars had hired a car so we went out for the day on a drive along the coast. We were rushing around like mad things to see as much as we could before the car had to be returned. Then Lars asked Christina to check the details on the form as he thought that he was an hour late. Christina then discovered that he was a day early!!!! So we went to watch the sunset on the beach and coincidently had a beer too.
We have spent the last couple of days eating and drinking extremely well aboard Oceana entertaining Lars or aboard Sirius still entertaining Lars. Lars tried out some acupuncture for Christina to help her relax after our latest sailing trip and the resultant video tape makes for very good watching.

Leaving Lisboa

Well we finally left Lisboa with a favourable wind and a following Atlantic swell. After 24 hours of sleep deprived sailing where the boat rocked and rolled and squeaked and creaked and splished and splashed and Christina swore that she would never sail again we arrived at sunny Lagos (sunny for nearly a whole day). It was quite a tough sail due to the conditions but would have been really exciting if we had both managed to sleep. We were sufing down waves at ten knots, hanging on as the spray flew out from the bow glowing with phosphorescence and averaged 8 knots all the way (almost twice the speed of a walking man - imagine that now!!!)

After a bite to eat and a glass of wine or bottle or two we slept soundly and Christina renounced her vow to be a land lubber.

Letter from afar
Today I have received a letter from our intrepid duo containing some photographs they have asked me to put on this site. Conclusive proof at last that they have actually left the country. Bleeding fiddly it was too. Don't mind though as I'm trying to ingratiate myself so I can get a free holiday somewhere glamorous.

Click on the picture to get a larger version and sarcastic comments from me.

A visit to Fairyland

After our night out in Queens what could be better than a visit to Pena Palace in Sintra. A true fairyland where we saw lots of Fairies and as we wandered down through the woods a few pixies and elves too!!!

Well we are off to Lagos tommorrow , weather permitting so keep tuned for the next enthralling episode.
Love to LisboaXXXXXXXX.

The biggest blaggers in town

We decided that we should sample the night life in Lisboa, but not being used to paying to get in Christina publicised the fact that the famous DJ Andy from London was in town looking for a night out. Once word got around we went up to the famous Queens Club and got in on the owners guest list for a bit of VIP treatment. All very nice. I also got my first gig here in the Op Art bar and the Pranksters went down very nicely indead!!!!

Groggs gone!!!!!

Well we were right to worry about Lars and Brian. We had a very drunken night on Oceana and the very next day Grogg was kidnapped by the crazy Danes!!!
Not really, he has jumped ship to cary on his adventure while we spend some time in Lisboa. It was sad to see them leave especially as Grogg had become part of the furniture. We will miss him but are very sure that it isn´t the last we have seen of him. See you soon Grogg, we love you very much.

Ponte 25 de Abril bridge in Lisbon
Ponte 25 de Abril bridge in Lisbon

Lets all go to Lisboa!!!!!

We have made it to the capital of Portugal and seem to have left the storms behind at last. After leaving Leixeos we encountered another storm as we ran for cover in Nazare. The whole sky was lit up with lightening which crashed into the sea all around us and over our heads. The rain was coming at us horizontally at times, so hard that you couldn´t look up. Then when you did look up , all you could see was lightening AAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When we reached port and had tied the boat up (and had a beer) we all said to each other that we couldn´t understand how it was that we didn´t get struck! The next day brought fair winds and sunshine and we headed for Lisboa. It was really lovely sailing up the Rio Tejo under the great big Ponte 25 de Abril all under the gaze of Jesus who is standing on a big column south of the city.

We have had some fun in the city so far and have visited the town of Sintra to do the tourist bit, more fun to follow we hope.

We are building up to Grogg´s send off and Lars and Brian have just moored up next to us in the marina. I am not sure if this is a good thing or not?????!!!!!!!!!

Still mourning the loss of Christina´s Tilley hat, any floral tributes and donations can be sent directly to us on Oceana (Ahoy there to find out more details).
